Good morning, Forest Creek Families!
Due to the weather today and continuing through tomorrow, our Coyote Fun Run has been moved to Tuesday, October 6, during each grade level’s regular Specials time. Families are still invited to join us and cheer on their Coyotes!
Please note that we will not have a modified schedule on Tuesday. The Fun Run will take place during students’ regularly scheduled Specials time. We understand this change may disrupt work schedules and plans you’ve already made, and we truly appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
Tuesday Fun Run Times:
- 4th Grade: 8:15–9:00 a.m.
- 3rd Grade: 9:05–9:50 a.m.
- 5th Grade: 9:55–10:40 a.m.
- Mrs. Brannan, Mrs. Pastrano, Mr. Chris & Mrs. Flo: 10:45–11:15 a.m.
- Kindergarten: 11:20 a.m.–12:05 p.m.
- 1st Grade: 12:35–1:20 p.m.
- 2nd Grade: 1:25–2:10 p.m.
Our wonderful Specials teachers volunteered to run the Fun Run on the new date, making it possible for us to enjoy two days of celebration!
Tomorrow, October 2nd: The Booster team will host a glow dance party in the gym during Specials. Students can wear white or neon for maximum glow power! We’ll also still assemble to turn Mrs. Flores into a human ice cream sundae!
Tuesday, October 6: Students will participate in our rescheduled Fun Run during Specials, with families welcome to join us for the fun.
Thanks to your generosity, we’ve reached both our $40,000 goal and $50,000 stretch goal! We’re incredibly grateful for every registration, share, and donation that helps fund enrichment and opportunities for Forest Creek students.
And we’re not done yet! Reaching $55,000 will unlock bubbles at Tuesday’s Fun Run, and tomorrow we’ll announce a special bonus overtime weekend challenge!

Good afternoon, families,
I am reaching out to let you know about a change in our classroom displays, in accordance with recently clarified state legislation.
On Tuesday, April 22, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Senate Bill 10—also known as the Ten Commandments bill—does not violate either the Establishment Clause or the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment.
This means that school districts must now comply with the requirements of SB 10 and post donated Ten Commandments posters in classrooms. Staff may not remove donated posters, and the district may not refuse to post them. Doing so would be a violation of state law.
We have received a donation of 56 posters that meet the display requirements, and they will be displayed in our classrooms beginning this afternoon. The posters are 16” X 20” and include the statutorily required version of the Ten Commandments.
Please know the posters are not instructional materials. They are for display only and are not tied to any state or district curriculum. No lesson plans are associated with the posters, and their content will not be a topic of classroom instruction. If a student asks a staff member about the posters, their response will be to simply state, "It is a required poster as a result of a recent law passed." More information is also available on the district’s website.
We are displaying these posters in compliance with state law and not to promote any religion. Our school and our district remain committed to providing a safe, welcoming learning environment that is respectful of all students and their beliefs.
