Good afternoon, families,
I am reaching out to let you know about a change in our classroom displays, in accordance with recently clarified state legislation.
On Tuesday, April 22, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Senate Bill 10—also known as the Ten Commandments bill—does not violate either the Establishment Clause or the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment.
This means that school districts must now comply with the requirements of SB 10 and post donated Ten Commandments posters in classrooms. Staff may not remove donated posters, and the district may not refuse to post them. Doing so would be a violation of state law.
We have received a donation of 56 posters that meet the display requirements, and they will be displayed in our classrooms beginning this afternoon. The posters are 16” X 20” and include the statutorily required version of the Ten Commandments.
Please know the posters are not instructional materials. They are for display only and are not tied to any state or district curriculum. No lesson plans are associated with the posters, and their content will not be a topic of classroom instruction. If a student asks a staff member about the posters, their response will be to simply state, "It is a required poster as a result of a recent law passed." More information is also available on the district’s website.
We are displaying these posters in compliance with state law and not to promote any religion. Our school and our district remain committed to providing a safe, welcoming learning environment that is respectful of all students and their beliefs.
Thank you for your continued support,
Briana Flores
Forest Creek Principal

Good evening, families!
Just one more reminder as we prepare for tomorrow! Beginning Thursday, students who arrive after 7:35 a.m. will be marked tardy. At 7:35 a.m., all staff members on morning duty will return inside the building, and our morning arrival areas will close.
If your student arrives after 7:35 a.m., a parent or guardian must park, walk their student into the building, and sign them in at the front office. Please do not drop students off at the curb once the school day has begun.
🚗 Back car rider families: If you are still in the back car rider line at 7:35 a.m., you will need to drive around to the front of the school, park, and walk your student inside to sign them in.
💚 Safety Patrols are coming soon! We know our Safety Patrol students are such a great help during morning arrival by opening car doors and helping students safely exit their vehicles. We appreciate your patience as we get this important student leadership opportunity up and running for the school year!
Thank you for your partnership in helping our Coyotes arrive on time, safely, and ready for a great day of learning!

Good afternoon, Coyotes!
The second day of school has been a fantastic one at FCE! We wanted to share a quick update about tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow, Friday, August 21, we are excited to welcome a BMX team to FCE for two student assemblies. The first assembly will begin at 8:15 a.m., followed by the second at 9:15 a.m.
The BMX team will arrive on campus around 7:15 a.m. to begin setting up. Because of this, a portion of our parking lot will be temporarily unavailable during the morning. Please refer to the color-coded map for parking information:
Yellow highlighted area: Closed during the morning for the BMX team and assembly setup.
Orange highlighted area: Available for staff and visitor parking.
We are excited to provide this fun and engaging experience for our students! The BMX team will teach students about bike and scooter safety, helmet safety, and crosswalk safety, while connecting their message to our FCE 3 B’s: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible.
Thank you for your flexibility with parking tomorrow morning. We are looking forward to a great day at FCE!
